How it works.
Automation is key.
WP Sweeper is a shell script I built to automate the cleaning of hacked and broken WordPress sites as much as possible.
It will automatically detect the WordPress version and replace all the core files with new versions downloaded from the repository at WordPress.org. It’ll also replace plugin and theme files for plugins and themes available on the WordPress.org repository.
It was deliberately built using shell scripting and not as a plugin for WordPress, since the plugin would only work as long as WordPress itself isn’t compromized. By using shell scripting we can still interact and fix WordPress even when WordPress itself is broken.

1. Setup
Upload the script to the server.
2. Run the script over SSH
Run WP Sweeper and have it clean the site for you.
